The story behind
Hope Jewellery

Handcrafted with love and started with a daughter, a dog, and a lockdown.

Hi, I'm Vicki, designer, silversmith, and the heart behind Hope Jewellery.

Like so many stories worth telling, this one started in the strangest of times. When the pandemic brought the World to a standstill in 2021, my event crewing business went quiet overnight. My daughter Lily came home from university, and suddenly we had something neither of us had expected; time. So we used it. Together, Lily and I began making beaded and wire jewellery at the kitchen table, with our dog Barney keeping us company. What started as a way to stay sane quickly became a genuine passion, and Hope Jewellery was born; named after Lily Hope herself.

From kitchen table to Cotswolds studio

When Lily headed back to university and life began to open up again, I knew I wanted to take my craft further. I enrolled on a 12-week silversmithing course in London and fell completely in love with working in sterling silver. After relocating to the beautiful Cotswolds in September 2021, I went on to study and pass a one-year Diploma in Fine Jewellery with the Jewellers Academy, and I haven't looked back since.

In 2023 I introduced vermeil gold plating to my collections, and those pieces have quickly become some of my best sellers. Every design I create — whether in silver or gold — is made by hand, with care, and with the intention that you'll wear it for years to come.

More than a jewellery shop

I also welcome commissions, so if you have something personal in mind — perhaps a piece using a stone that means something to you, or a gift that needs to be one of a kind — I'd love to hear from you.

If you'd like to try making jewellery yourself, my workshops near Chippenham are a wonderful way to spend a few hours. No experience needed,  just a sense of curiosity and the enjoyment of making something beautiful with your own hands.

Jewellery making has been quite a rollercoaster and honestly; I love every moment of it.
